I'd like to interrupt the er..."flow" if my current series on helmet stuff to present a new mitten gauntlet pattern. I've posted the link in the "Patterns" section. I'll update the file with more detailed instructions a little later on. The guants in the pic are constructed of aluminum (approx 16ga.) and employ floating articulation via leather strips underneath. Check it out.
